Özgür, thank you for making this interview with us. Please share with us how you started your career in finance and what led you to join Qoolize.
I started my accounting career by studying Econometrics during my university years. Later, I worked as an accounting and finance assistant, specialist, manager, audit manager, and director. I joined Qoolize because my friends, with whom I had previously worked with pleasure, had founded a company and wanted to see me among them. I need to work safely with familiar people and handle tasks in a team spirit. We focus on solving problems rather than creating them, which creates a unique working environment for me.
What are your primary responsibilities and critical focus areas as the finance manager?
As the finance manager, my primary responsibility is to maximize the financial efficiency of the system and ensure its continuity by keeping risk factors to a minimum. Ensuring financial continuity with our customers and suppliers is also among our priorities.

Can you share insights into your leadership style and how it contributes to the success of your team and the organization organization?
Under normal circumstances, I adopt an instructive and supportive leadership style and enable my team members to make their own decisions in line with the objectives of our business policy. This approach creates a sense of ownership among team members, encourages continuous self-improvement, and enables learning. For the organization, this approach supports new team members and strengthens interdepartmental communication, helping to ensure business integrity.
How do you navigate challenges and uncertainties in the financial landscape, and what strategies do you employ to ensure success?
In finance, we classify and prioritize challenges and uncertainties according to their risks and determine solutions according to their risk weight. In short, we create our success strategy by making the uncertainties we encounter as specific as possible and systematically producing solutions.
Let's talk about life decisions a little bit. You recently moved to Montenegro. How is life there, and how did you decide to move?
Montenegro is a small and quiet holiday town. Kotor, in particular, is one of the most beautiful places in the south and resembles the fjords of Norway. I wanted to live there because I admired the city of Kotor and its nature, but I guess I couldn't fully adapt, so I decided to travel around the world. :)
I would prefer to see the cultures and beauty of the countries for a maximum of 2-3 months.
Do you have any hobbies?
My main hobbies are usually visiting places in a relaxed mode or spending time on the computer. I have recently wanted to engage in rowing and sea sports. I will move to another coastal town soon and make time for these.
Do you have a personal mantra or guiding principle influencing your career and life?
I see life and the universe as chaotic, so maxims and principles seem radical. However, not being unethical and accepting that something may be true somewhere can be considered principles for me.
Lastly, what's your favorite series of all time?
Unfortunately, I don't watch many TV series, but I loved the Lord of the Rings movie, so I'm also waiting for the new series season.
